Safeguarding of Children in Education Level 1

Anyone who works with or comes into contact with children or young people, no matter how frequent, should take this Safeguarding of Children Level 1 course as it is required to have knowledge on how to Safeguarding Children. Including roles such as:

• teachers
• head teachers
• teaching assistants
• early years practitioners
• administrators
• reception staff
• safeguarding teams

Everyone that comes into contact with children and families is responsible for safeguarding. However, the EYFS requires that every school or college should have a practitioner that is designated to take the lead responsibility for safeguarding children. They are known as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and are your point of contact to discuss any concerns. 

Safeguarding children in schools is important because it's critical to spot the warning signs of any abuse or harm and know how to report any concerns in order to keep children and young people safe.

With teachers being around children every day, they are more likely to spot any signs, whether physical or mental, and they can ensure children feel comfortable enough to come forward and speak to them if needed. This Safeguarding Children Level 1 in Education training will give them the skills and knowledge needed to help children and young people.
