This course teaches learners what emergency scenarios they may be faced with when looking after babies and young children. Please note that the EYFS statutory framework states that only those holding a full certificate can be counted towards the required number of supervising adults in a child care setting. Due to this course only being day one of the full certificate, this course doesn't fulfil this requirement.
The aim of this course is to greater increase your knowledge of how to respond in emergency situations.
The key points covered in this course are:
Assessing an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally
Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally
Help a baby or child who is having a seizure
Help a baby or child who is choking
Help a baby or child who is bleeding
Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss
